Highway Deaths Continue to Increase - Why?
According to The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the maximum celerity limit on a freeway in 1974 was 55 mph. Not only was this deemed appropriate for safety purposes, however also for fuel conservation. Fair or incorrect, there were fewer highway deaths per capita during these years. More information: click
