Beijing Cars - An Upside to Number Plate Restrictions?

In order to cope with a megalopolis drowning in traffic, in one of the most polluted environments on earth, the Beijing authorities introduced restrictions aimed at curbing the registration of fresh vehicles in the megalopolis. Introduced in January 2011, the fresh regulations mean that only 20,000 cars can be registered in any given month, and only a total of 240,000 may be registered in the whole year.
