Aston Martin has been producing the DB9 since 2004, it replaced the DB7. Aston Martin chose not to call it the DB8 as some may misinterpret it to have only a V8 engine. Also, the fresh automobile was a massive step up from the Jaguar XJ-S based DB7 hence naming it DB8 would suggest it was just an evolution. More information: click here to view more of this
