Nearly thirty per cent of injury motor vehicle crashes are rear-end collisions; in 2006 that amounted to 1.6 million crashes. Shoulder and lap belts employment to hold human beings in their seats, protecting them from being thrown encircling the passenger compartment or colliding with the windshield or the steering column, and from being thrown outside of the vehicle. Seat belts can perform their protective function only if the seat stays firmly anchored, upright, and maintains its structural integrity. When a seat falls apart, the person in it is at risk for serious injury. More information: more
